Spencer and Ambrose, and Talley and Lee, Associates, produced the design for Sunnydale Elementary's design. An article in the Western Engineer (unknown month, 1949), p. 46 indicated that William C. Ambrose was the lead designer on the new $600,000 school.

The SFUSD's Sunnydale Elementary School was featured in the following periodicals: American School Board Journal, v. 122, 01/1951, it may be page 47; Engineering News Record, vol 147, no. 1, p. 88 (bid announcement); it was also mentioned in the Annual Report of the Department of Public Works City and County of San Francisco, 1953, p. 79.
