During the mid-late 19th century, many immigrant groups established banks and other lending institutions to make a profit, but also to assist in the establishment of countrymen and women in the United States. The Germania Trust Company was headed by Ernst A. Denicke (President), H. Brunner (Cashier), and F. Kronenberg (Vice-President).
In 1900, the Germania Trust Company had its office at 42 Montgomery Street, on the southeast corner of Sutter Street and Montgomery.
