An article in the Los Angeles Times's society pages (05/10/1914) remarked: "Mrs. Homer Chapman, who has just moved into her beautiful new home at No. 153 South Van Ness Avenue, was hostess Friday at a yellow and white luncheon, complimentary to Miss Margaret McNeely, who will wed, this month, Joseph Halsted Chapman, son of the hostess." (See "Mrs Chapman Entertains," Los Angeles Times, 05/10/1914, part III, p. 13.)
