The Los Angeles Times reported in its 05/15/1904 issue: ""Architects Stone & Smith of San Francisco are preparing plans of the new High School building to be erected in this district. It will be of brick with two stories and basement. A large circular assembly hall will be a special feature of its construction." (See "Alhambra," Los Angeles Times, 05/15/1904, p. D2.) Alhambra's first dedicated high school opened in 1898; it is not clear which high school Stone and Smith designed at this time.
