Building History

The Tacoma architectural firm of Hatherton and McIntosh originally designed this trapezoidal, five-story building to serve as the headquarters for the Tacoma Chamber of Commerce; the property was then traded to the City of Tacoma for use as its city hall. Completed in 1893. it operated as Tacoma's city hall until 1957.
