John Gray (d. 10/2012), an Ontario-born developer who grew up in the Willamette Valley, first began development at Salishan Lodge in 1965. He sold the resort to Lend Lease Corporation, an Australian real estate firm, in 1996. In 2003, it was managed by Westin Hotels and Resorts. Spring Capital Group, a Eugene-based firm. purchased the property from Lend Lease in 2003 for about $16 million.
