Ain designed the Ernst House for a long, narrow lot in the hilly, Los Feliz Neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. Because of its shallow lot, Ain sited the house directly next to the Holly Oak Drive. To dampen noise from automobile traffic, Ain located the garage and a blank wall directly on the street. Cubic and white, the Ernst House has the International Style aesthetic which Ain adopted early in his career.
