The Moran Brothers, Robert (1857-1943), Peter and William, built this drydock and sawmill. In 1890, Robert was President of Moran Brothers, with Peter as Secretary. They rented the sawmill out to the Hart Brothers Lumber Company until 1892, when they left the milling business. Albert Sperry Kerry, Sr. (1866-1939), took on the Hart Brothers' lease. His Kerry Lumber Company used the facility for several years when it was destroyed by fire.
In 1896, the Moran Brothers and Durie Mill and Engineers Supplies business was located on the "east side of Railroad Avenue south of Yesler Avenue." (See Moran Brothers and Durie Ad, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 06/23/1890, p. 12.)
Demolished; a fire ruined this mill c. 1897.
