This Baptist congregation had outgrown its previous church at South Park Avenue and West 4th Street by the late 1900s, with a population of 300. This building, designed by the Los Angeles architect Norman F. Marsh (1871-1955). Marsh designed many Baptist and Methodist churches throughout Southern CA. Marsh himself was a Methodist, active in his own congregation near him home in South Pasadena, CA.
Demolished; the 1st Baptist Church #2 was razed in 02/2005.
