Carl Boller (1868-1946), who headed the West Coast office of Boller Brothers, Architects, designed the Fontana Theatre late in his career, nine years before his death. It had a vertical Art Deco styling, somewhat late for its use. The Fontana Theatre exhibited movies for a short time, until the 1950s, when it became reused for a number of other purposes. The Fontana Mummers Community Theatre bought the building and occupied it c. 1999-2003. In 07/2008, it become known as the Center Stage Theatre, a performing arts center.
