In 1928, the Orpheum's new owner, T. and D., Jr. Enterprises, Incorporated, decided to renovate the building. T. and D. owned a number of other theatres in small CA cities: the Tulare in Tulare (1928), the State in Oroville (1928), and Senator in Chico (1929), among others. The renovated theatre was renamed the "State Theatre" at its re-opening on 03/30/1929.

Demolished; the State Theatre #1 burned in 02/1944.
