It was reported in 1957 in Power Engineering: "Stanford University has announced plans for new steel and concrete boiler plant and heating system for college campus. Plans by Spencer & Ambrose, 251 Kearny St, San Francisco, Calif., will be place in work soon at a reported cost of approximately $1,300,000. G.M. Simonson, 507 Howard St, San Francsico, Calif., consulting engineer." (See Power Engineering, vol. 61, 1957, p. 46) San Francisco architect Eldridge "Ted" Spencer (1892-1978) was the Campus Architect at Stanford for many years after World War II.
