Building History
L.A. Treen operated this boot and shoe store on the west side of Front Street (later renamed 1st Avenue) c. 1880. The store was just north of the Front and Cherry Street intersection, on the northern edge of Pioneer Square. At this time, the business district consisted mainly of wood-frame, two-story or lower buildings. The shoe store occupied the first floor and had large windows on either side of the front door; these windows were lit by at least 20 lights each. Rooms lit by three, tall, narrow double-hung windows were upstairs.
Demolished.
