A Fosters Diner, operating at 5th and Jessie streets in the 1960s, was one of 20 restaurants this Bay Area chain had at one time. By c. 2010, the location was occupied by a Latte Express Cafes/Restaurants, one of three in the city. The Press/Fosters/Latte Express utilized the first floor retail space of an ornate, five-story retail/apartment building across from the San Francisco Mint.
