The Mengedoht Building occupied space at the corner of 7th Avenue and Virginia Street. In 1937, C.R. Tinney, owner of the Tinney Furniture Company, signed a five-year lease in the Mengedoht building for $40,000. (See "Space Leased to Dress Shop," Seattle Times, 08/22/1937, p. 19.)
