Building Notes

The Swiss watchmaker, Louis Klodt, had a watch shop at 824 2nd Avenue (at Marion Street) in 1900. At this time, he advertised solid gold watches for $18.00 and up. (See "Latest Arrivals," Seattle Daily Times, 03/13/1900, p. 8.) WA State Architectural Historian Michael Houser, in his online biography of architect William P. White's career, indicated that White designed a Klodt Building for a Seattle site in 1906.
