John Eisenbeis (d. 1902), an early businessman in the lumber town of Port Townsend, WA, erected a number of commercial buildings there, including this block at 702 Water Street, the commercial building at 1003-1009 Water Street, the Mount Baker Building, a brewery and a hotel. The Earthworks Gallery later occupied the space.

The front facade of the rectangular Eisenbeis Building at 702 Water Street was composed of random coursed ashlar masonry, while the side facade was composed of random ashlar masonry.
