In 1904, the Issaquah Coal Company stockpiled Grand Ridge Coal at the foot of Madison Street along Railroad Avenue (later Alaskan Way) along Seattle's Elliott Bay waterfront. (See Issaquah Coal Company advertisement, Seattle Times, 06/05/1904, p. 11.)
