In 1958, Stanley Frank began constructing this small amusement park featuring a one-quarter-scale model railroad on which visitors can ride through various small town or rural vignettes. He completed work on it a decade later. Frank, a printer living in Oakland, CA, and an avid O-gauge model railroader, completed the park during spare time. His sons have continued to operate The Sonoma TrainTown to the present.
The Frank Family completed six other train-themed rides on the property between 1993 and 2003.
