The Pacific Electric Railway Company (Red Line) used this depot as the Van Nuys stop on its Canoga Park line that operated from 1917-1938.

The Van Nuys depot for the Red Car line was made a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument on 01/11/1989; this designation didn't last long as the building burned the following year.

A larger section of this railway station (built in 1932) was used as a vegetable packing plant.

Demolished; a fire destroyed the station on 06/04/1990.
