Walter Clark (1896-1990), who began his career in the Manning's Coffee House chain, became a powerful force in Seattle's restaurant community during the 1920s-1960s. Clark managed the Round the Clock Restaurant at its opening on 07/07/1938.
This restaurant, open 24 hours, was in operation c. 1944. Its exterior design had a strong 1930s Streamline Moderne aesthetic, with its rounded corner, glass block, and emphatic horizontal lines.
