Between 1912-1915, the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company (P, T and T) operated its Seattle business offices at 1309-1311 4th Avenue, the Cobb Building, a new office building designed to house upper-income professionals, such as doctors and dentists. By 1919, the P, T and T had a new office in the Stuart Building, another large office building in the Metropolitan Tract owned by the University of WA.
