Co-founder of defense giant TRW, Simon Ramo (b. 1913) and his wife, Virginia (1916-2009), provided the funding for this recital hall, named in her behalf. She was a 1937 graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), and faithful donor to the school. The couple also provided funding to his alma mater, the California Institute of Technology, for the Simon Ramo Auditorium.
