Pennsylvanian Charles Russell Collins, Sr. (c. 1863-1937), and his wife lived in this house in 1897, shortly after coming to Seattle, WA, a year previously. Collins was a prominent mechanical engineer in the city and the owner of the Chelsea Hotel (1906-1907). They subsequently lived in the Chelsea Hotel for several years, before moving to a residence at 324 Harvard Avenue North.
