The Barmore House, a three-story, Tudor Revival manse, was featured on the front page of "The Better City and Its Finer Suburbs," (vol. II, no. 3, 05/15/1909). The house had the usual half-timbering on the upper floors with a first story faced in rusticated stone. A large front porch stretched across half the front facade, with the front door sheltered within it. The house stood on a rise above the street, and the visitor was forced to climb multiple flights of stairs to reach the main entry.
