Globe Development Company of Renton, WA, erected this four-floor, 25,346-square-foot office building on Mercer Island, WA, at the corner of East Mercer Way and US Interstate 90. Clearing of the approximately 2-acre site began in 08/1978 and construction of the $1.26 million was to conclude in 01/1979. The exterior had a 1970s aesthetic of vertical and diagonal cedar siding trimmed by reflective solar-bronze glass. Nielson and Smith of Renton, WA, was the architectural firm, while the Globe Construction Company served as the building contractor. The architects sought to preserve as many mature trees as possible to shield the parking lot from view. Upper floors of the Globe Building had views of Lake Washington.
