Building History
Fay Swick Frederick (d. 1959) lived in this dwelling until the time of her death in 1959. She was a patron of the Seattle Museum of Art and an active member of the city's society circles. Her husband, Donald E. Frederick, (d. 07/1937), was a founding partner in the department store business, Frederick and Nelson. They commissioned the San Francisco architect Lewis P. Hobart, (1873-1954), to design this Chateausque residence, completed in 1931.
