Animator and filmmaker Walt Disney (1901-1966) married Lillian Marie Bounds in Lewiston, ID, on 07/13/1925; Lillian's family came from ID, where her father had been a blacksmith. Although the couple had lived in two rented residences between 1925-1927, this was their first owned residence. Walt's elder brother, Roy O. Disney (1893-1971), and his wife, Edna Francis Disney (1890-1984), lived in an identical kit house next door built on the same piece of property. Roy Disney, to save money, bought two houses from Pacific Ready-Cut Homes, for $16,000. Walt and Lillian Bounds Disney (1899-1997) lived at 2495 Lyric Avenue, Roy and his wife at 2491 Lyric Avenue.
