Using money derived in part from President Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), the Oakland International Airport and the Federal Administration Administration (FAA) broke ground on 10/15/2010 for a new energy-efficient control tower to be completed in 2013. This single facility would replace two towers serving the north and south fields.
