The mining engineer and executive Oliver P. Posey (1845-1930) and his wife, Sara ((born 06/1860 in NJ), lived in this house following their move from CO to Los Angeles, CA, in 1893. They moved to a new, 22-room mansion at 8 Chester Place, in the exclusive Chester Place tract, in 1900. Posey traveled a great deal, often to mining operations in Mexico, leaving his family for long periods.
