This house was erected for the founder of the Kum-Kleen Adhesive Products Company in Los Angeles, CA, in 1935. The company produced self-adhesive labels and was renamed "Avery Adhesives Company" in 1938. Landscape architect Ruth Patricia Shellhorn (1909-2006) laid out the gardens of Avery's residence.
