Building History

Hotelier Arnold S. Kirkeby (1901-1962) developed this office building in Westwood known originally as "Kirkeby Center." Kirkeby perished on 03/01/1962 when American Airlines Flight 1 crashed while en route from New York to Los Angeles. This accident killed all 87 passengers and 8 crew of the Boeing 707.

Building Notes

Armand Hammer's museum displaying his art collection was built in 1990 just to the west of the Occidental Petroleum Building on Wilshire Boulevard.
