This facility operated near the northeast corner of 5th Avenue and Pine Street c. 1890. Initially, it was a small, one-story, brick building, with distinctive stepped gable ends.
In later years, two neighboring buildings were added to the car barn to increase garage capacity. The building immediately to the west was a gable-roofed wood-frame building. Next to this, close to the corner of 5th Avenue and Pine Street, was a three-story, brick building with four arched entryways. The arches' keystones were rusticated masonry.
