In their 1994 guidebook, Los Angeles: An Architectural Guide, Gebhard and Winter put the completion date of the Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Silver Lake, Los Angeles, CA, as 1928.

The church's first extension was complete in 1946; the chapel and bell tower were finished in 1960 and 1964 by Serge N. Koschin (1898-1971), a collaborator of Richard Neutra (1892-1970) during the 1950s.
