Building History
Work was done on the Stanford Medical Center by San Francisco architect Rex Whitaker Allen (1914-2008) in 1954-1955. New York architect Edward Durell Stone (1902-1978) produced the completed design of the Stanford University Medical Center, located on campus. It moved from San Francisco, CA, where it was located previously.
Alteration
A 150,000-square-foot, $85 million Stanford Cancer Center opened at the Medical School in spring 2004, accommodating 200 radiologists, oncologists, surgeons and other medical professionals. (See "Cancer Center Opens," Stanford, 05-06/2004, p. 23.)
