Architects Dickey and Reed designed two bank buildings in 1905, one for the West Berkeley Bank on University Avenue in Berkeley, CA, and the other this Homestead Loan Association Bank. Its entryway was a highlighted by a frieze supported by two Tuscan columns. Prominent keystones hung above all windows and doors. Like the West Berkeley Bank, the Homestead Loan Association Bank had a simplified balustrade designed without balusters.
Due to remodeling, this bank building no longer has many characteristics of its original appearance.
