Overview
Located at 269 Campus Drive, the firm of the renowned British architect, Sir Norman Foster, completed this commission for Stanford University between 1995 and 2001.
Building Notes
This medial research building contained 11,640 square meters when built in 1998; cost was $4,500 per square meter; Foster designed the building to accommodate the laboratories, research areas, offices, and the medical school's Human Anatomy Department; like the CERAS Building at Stanford, the plan for the Center for Clinical Research Sciences, consists of two parallel sections joined by a central atrium, the latter designed to spur cross-fertilization among the building's occupants; Nigel Dancey was Foster's Design Principal for the building;
