The California Prune and Apricot Growers cooperative controlled most of the apricot and plum production in CA by 1920; the Santa Clara Valley of CA had the highest number of prune and apricot growers. Tourists from San Francisco, CA, and elsewhere would come in chartered buses to view the valley's orchards in spring when the trees blossomed. This was one of thirty packing plants that the California Prune and Apricot Growers owned in 1922. (See Eugene T. Sawyer, History of Santa Clara County, California, with Biographical Sketches of the Leading Men and Women of the County Who Have Been Growth and Development from the Early Days to the Present, [Los Angeles: Historic Record Company, 1922], p. 135-145.)
