This was the only public golf course built at Pebble Beach, CA, by the Del Monte Properties Company.

The web site for the Peter Hay Executive Golf Course stated: "Peter Hay and Samuel F. B. Morse were interested in the concept of a 9-hole course where golfers could work on their short game or squeeze a short round into a busy day. There was a parcel of available hillside between the Pebble Beach Golf Links and the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center with barely enough space—less than 10 acres." (See "Course History,"Accessed 09/08/2011.) Three designers have been credited with the design of the famous Hay course, Peter Hay, Jack Neville, and General Robert B. McClure. (McClure laid out the Bayonet Course at nearby Fort Ord, CA, in 1954) The Pater Hay course, which opened in 10/1957, was part of the Pebble Beach Golf Links.
