Daniel Bekins, one of seven sons in the large Bekins Family, started a branch of the Bekins Moving and Storage Company in Portland, OR, in 1921. Headquartered in rapidly growing Seattle, WA, since 1903, Daniel Bekins began to expand his northwest operations, first in Portland, and then in Vancouver, BC, Canada, (1924), Tacoma, WA, (1925), Spokane, WA, (1929) and Denver, CO, (1930).
