This site in the Santa Clarita Valley acted as a stop for the Butterfield Stage Coach Line, and others; in addition to a stage coach station, a post office, telegraph office, and tavern occupied the site. Bought by Sanford and Cyrus Lyon in 1855, and was named for them.
