In 1930, George J. Myers lived at 1204 Boren Avenue, a residence valued then at approximately $40,000, a sum close to ten times the cost of an average dwelling. Myers, aged 61 in 1930, was retired at the time, and lived here with his wife, Mary. In addition, the Myers employed three Japanese-American servants, B. Murata, the cook, Tami Yoshinaka, a general servant, and S. Matsumoto, the chauffeur. Additionally, Matsumoto's wife, T. Matsumoto, lived here as well.
