The aviation pioneer, William E. Boeing used this manufacturing plant for his initial aircraft company, the Pacific Aero Products Company. The factory was located on the banks of Lake Union, providing his seaplane, the B and W Seaplane, a place to take-off and land. The Pacific Aero Products Company lasted between 07/15/1916 and 04/18/1917, when the company was renamed the Boeing Airplane Company.
