This bakery, closed in 2005, produced Hostess Snack Cakes and Wonder Bread for the Continental Baking Company (formed in 1925), long America's largest baker. In 08/19/2005, Kansas City, MO-based Interstate Bakeries Corporation closed this Wonder Bread/Hostess Bakery and another, the Parisian Bakery at 1995 Evans Avenue in San Francisco, due to lack of profitability. In 1950, the Wonder Bread/Hostess Bakery was located just to the north of the San Francisco Seals Baseball Stadium at the corner of Bryant Street and Alameda Street. Across Bryant Street, the Rainier Brewery was located at 1550 Bryant.
