This three-bedroom, 2.5-bath Colonial Revival Style house was built for Dean and one-time Acting President of the University of Washington, David Thomson (1871-1953), and his wife, Maude. Dr. Thomson, a Latin scholar, worked at the UW for approximately 50 years and served as Acting President in 1926-1927, following the 10/04/1926 ouster of Henry Suzzallo (1875-1933) by Governor Roland Hartley (1864-1952). The Distinctive Homes Company erected the wood-frame dwelling for the Thomsons. Subsequent owners included Gerald Hybeck perhaps a Boeing engineer, George A. Lundberg (1895-1966), Professor and Chair of the UW Sociology Department and ethno-musicologist Daniel M. Neuman, Dean of the UW School of Music and later Dean of the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture (1996-2002) and Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at UCLA (2002 to 2006).

In 2011, this house had an asking rental price of $2,700.00 per month. It occupied a 5,400-square-foot lot in 2011.
