Jennie Edgar operated her bath house c. 1900. Classified advertisements ran in The Seattle Daily Times on 01/29/1900, page 9 for Madame Jennie Edgar's establishment at 218 1/2 Columbia Street, a "newly opened bath parlor by [an] Eastern lady" in the Hotel Imperial offering massage and Turkish baths, Madame La Blanche's at 320 Union Street, one at 113 Columbia Street ("over the Banquet," presumably a restaurant), one operating at 606 2nd Avenue, and a place in Room 21 of the Union Block. All of the massage parlors indicated that a woman owned the business or a "lady attendant" was present.
