The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) temporarily closed down Belmont, an upscale Hollywood restaurant, for having too many patrons on 03/06/2003. In 2002, the LAFD closed approximately 50 of the city's approximately 700 nightclubs due to fire code violations.
