Overview

The Tivoli Opera House had long entertained audiences in San Francisco with musical and dramatic performances. This theatre was the third and last to have the "Tivoli" name in the city.

Building History

This was the third theatre in San Francisco to carry the name "Tivoli." It operated between 1913 and 1926 as the Tivoli, then had its name altered to the "Columbia Theatre" between 1924 and 1930. It was renamed the Tivoli in 1930.

By 1949, the Tivoli #3 was showing films and adding live stage shows.

Alteration

The Tivoli Theatre was converted at least partly to motion picture exhibition in 1914.

Demolition

The Tivoli Theatre #3 was razed in 01/1951.
