Overview
This elaborate Swiss-styled chalet designed was a fixture in the Cliff Cannon neighborhood for over 70 years. It served as the home of Kirtland Kelsey Cutter, a highly talented and idiosyncratic architect who worked in Spokane, WA, for about 36 years, before relocating to Long Beach, CA.
Building History
Kirtland K. Cutter (1860-1939) moved to Spokane Falls, WA, in 10/1886, and lived with his uncle, Horace, and his wife Emily for some months in 1887. This small Swiss chalet was his second house design and the first for himself.

Cutter enlarged the Swiss Cottage in 1889 and in 1906.
Demolition
The notable Swiss chalet of Cutter was torn down to make way for an apartment building in the 1960s.
