This "Hansel and Gretel" styled (to use architectural historian David Gebhard's term) residence had very steeply pitched gables and "hand-wrought" roofing, giving it an eccentric appearance. The architect has emphasized rusticity to a painful extent, with its artificially aged shutters and plastering, rude shingling and fenestration's studied randomness.
